was formed in 2007 from a dedicated group of seasoned professionals
with a broad and deep experience in running information technology
companies. The companies people can boast of experience with Apple
Computer, Nike, Sequent, IBM, Intel – along with several successful
small businesses, Isis Corporation, Pulse Business Systems, ZairMail,
LaunchPoint, and others.
Ethan Dunham, the CEO, started his IT career by convincing a small
refrigeration service company to purchase an Apple Macintosh network
running Great Plains software for the same price as a single 30
megabyte hard drive - $35,000. That single purchase gave the company
an enormous competitive advantage - with the then revolutionary
concept of a computer on every desk. That investment enabled that
small business to innovate, beat its competition, and prosper. Those
sorts of revolutionary investments are once again available to small
businesses.

Who We Are
RedPine is a group of dedicated professional information technology managers. It is a virtual company patterned after the successes of its principal consultants.
Ethan Dunham, CEO. Ethan started his IT career in 1987 while working in a CPA firm. He pioneered the small business accounting business in Portland, Oregon, starting his first company at the technology incubator at Oregon Graduate Institute. For 20 years Mr. Dunham has built successful consulting and system integration firms who specialized both in large and small business information systems. Some companies he has worked with are Freightliner, PacifiCorp, Nike, and the Portland Development Commission. Small businesses like American Blimp (the largest blimp manufacture in the US, and Portland Saturday Market (the oldest open air market in the US) have been long time clients.
Scott Byers, Systems Engineer. Scott brings over 15 years of experience at the senior IT technical level. He is a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, along with several other certifications and awards. He is our senior engineer. Scott lives with his wife Susan and daughter Camryn and enjoys spending time with his family and is an active member of the ham amateur radio community.
Steve Munt, Software Development Expert. Steve is the CEO of SmartStart a premier software development firm. Steve started his career in the Silicon Valley and worked for some of the most successful companies there. Steve was so successful he was afforded the chance to move to Portland to raise his family, and quickly found his extensive experience and skills were in high demand amount the Portland small business community. SmartStart builds world class web and data driven applications.
Michelle Schmidt,
Senior Project Manager.
Michelle is a senior IT consultant who started her
career in the 1980’s at Accenture, the largest IT consulting firm in
the world. She then went on to be an IT Director at Legacy
Health Systems and most recently was with Columbia Forest Products
for 11 years as a consultant in charge of global data interchanges,
project management, and implementing large information systems.
Brett Mustard, Help Desk Administrator. Brett joined RedPine in 2007. He worked in the auto sales business, as well as theater and music before deciding on a career change. Brett provides the 'first line' customer service and support that RedPine is so well known for. He gets more customer accolades than anyone else in his position.
Noah Dunham, Help Desk Administrator. Noah has worked for RedPine since its conception, mostly during breaks, while he attended school in New York. In October of 2008 he came on full time to be part of the RedPine Technical Support Help Desk. Along with Brett and Bobby, Noah is the first point of contact for all IT issues and works quickly and effectively to find technical solutions and to guarantee customer care.
Bobby Romanski, Help Desk Administrator. Bobby was one of RedPine's original interns while he was completing his studies at Portland State University, where he studied graphic design. After a stint with a local software company and other technical pursuits he back with RedPine in 2010. Along with Noah and Brett, Bobby provides excellent and effective Tier 1 and 2 technical support to all of our customers.
